Paris and its monuments, an inseparable history

Paris is, of course, synonymous with the Eiffel Tower. It's hard to imagine a visit to Paris without admiring the imposing Iron Lady. She alone personifies the city. Standing 324 metres high, it dominates the capital, and if you're lucky enough to climb to the 3rd floor, you'll enjoy a spectacular view of the Paris region. While you're in Paris, don't miss Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece that took over two centuries to build! The heroine of Victor Hugo's famous novel, the cathedral is quite simply the most visited monument in the whole of Europe. To understand why it is such a success, all you have to do is go there! Paris is also home to the Arc de Triomphe, which you can visit and climb to see the city from a little higher up. The famous monument houses a museum retracing its history, as well as the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, whose flame is rekindled every evening of the year. In the 18th arrondissement, at the top of the Montmartre hill, you'll find the splendid Basilique du Sacré-Coeur. You can climb its 222 steps or (more relaxing) take the funicular. Like other Parisian buildings, this monument offers an impressive view of the capital.

Experience Paris through its neighbourhoods

Take a stroll through the different arrondissements and districts of the city of Paris, and enjoy the diversity of atmosphere and architecture as you wander. Stroll through the Marais, one of the most popular areas for tourists and Parisians alike. This is a very old part of Paris that is as dynamic as ever. There is a wide variety of activities on offer, including art galleries, bars and restaurants. Take the opportunity to take a gourmet break on rue des Rosiers and sample some falafels. The Quartier Latin, a student hangout, is a great place to stroll and daydream. Near Place Saint-Michel, you'll find plenty of places to eat and drink, and there are plenty of places to visit: the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Panthéon and the Sorbonne. The historic centre of Paris, Montmartre is also full of surprises. As well as the Sacré-Coeur, you'll love the charming narrow streets and authenticity of the Place du Tertre. Not forgetting, of course, the most beautiful avenue in the world, the Champs-Élysées, with its countless shops and restaurants. It remains one of the main symbols of Paris, and is sure to brighten up your day in the capital.
